The Prometheans are planetary exterminators, eradicating threats with their PyrX fires.

Origin[edit | edit source]
The Star Union deployed the promethean division to cleanse worlds of empire-destabilizing threats. Its PyrX gas was originally developed to immolate areas infested with xenoplague, but it was rumored the tech was also used to quieten dissenting worlds. Once a planet had been cleansed, the prometheans would send engineers and colonists to rapidly colonize the ruins. The promethean emblem instilled terror in all who saw it.

If the player has chosen to be Oathbound, the following option will be available at the beginning of the game. Note that this is the only way to get the paladin purifier battlesuit, which will also be for sale in the shop with this selection. It is not otherwise available in the game.

Strategy[edit | edit source]
Promethean technology is focused on purification through fire. Broadly applicable, it tends to be very direct and lacking in subtlety and can combine well with almost any faction. As such, this makes an excellent technology for the beginning player.
PyrX absorption panels are recommended as a mod for all units. Once equipped, the army can stand in a thermal hazard and heal automatically while it continues to do damage to the enemy. Make sure to have some purifiers to re-create a thermal hazard if it ends. At higher levels, use the phoenix walker for this purpose.
